Who can hire the vehicle?
At the moment we are hiring out vehicles with a driver.
We are hoping that in we the future we will be able to hire out our accessible cars on a self drive basis but training will need to be completed by the person who will be driving the vehicle.
For future reference should we be able to provide self drive hire the following apply:-
You must be over 21 years of age.
You must have 6 points or fewer on your license.
You will be given instructions on how to load a wheelchair and given information on other relevant details of the vehicle. Please factor this in when booking the vehicle. You will need to think about the fact that you may need to visit the office for this procedure during office hours.
You can collect the car out of office hours if that is more convenient to you but this has to be prearranged with the office.

Paperwork: If it is a self drive hire we need a copy of your driving license together with a code for a DVLA check. You are also required to read and sign a user agreement (we can email that to you but it needs to be signed at the office). Regular users do not need to do all this every time they hire a car – check with the office for details.
How much does it cost?

Costs included in the hire charge:-
Fuel.
Please note the vehicle should be returned full of fuel, there is a fuel card in the car which you use to purchase fuel (you don’t have to spend any of your own money doing this). You take the card into the petrol station they will ask you for the current mileage of the vehicle. You need to remember to get a VAT receipt which you must then leave in the folder in the car.
Insurance and breakdown insurance is included.
The car must be returned in a clean condition both inside and out – if not charges will be applied.
