News

(please note the latest news will be at the top)

13/10/11 The Summer Service across the Preseli Hills & along the Gwaun valley has finished for another year.

It was not a financial success, & it will therefore be looked at carefully & reviewed as to what happens next year. Obviously the PRTA would like to run a summer Preseli Hills service so watch this space!

The Thursday DAR service along the Gwaun Valley has also ended.

6/6/11 The new bus, GD IV is now based in St Dogmaels at the Abbey Coach House.
This will enable community groups in that area to access the bus more easily& will save time & milage in that drivers will not have to travel to the bus office in Bwylch-y-Groes to collect it.

25/5/11 At last, little brother has joined the fleet with it's smart new
Green Dragon fleet livery!

12/04/11 The new bus was collected from VCL (Vehicle Conversion Specialists) in Crewe yesterday. It looks great although has not had it's "Green Dragon" logos sorted out yet. We will of course put more pictures up here as soon as it is done.

The bus has been bought with help from TrACC, Awards For All - Wales, & CAVO 14/10/10 At the CTA Wales Annual Awards dinner held last night in Swansea, the PRTA won the trophy for "Best Marketing". The trophy was sponsored by Taith.

This recognition of the team that work together to promote the PRTA & of course the brand that is "The Green Dragon" has been rewarded for all their hard workwork; well done everybody!

9/5/10 The PRTA attended the launch of the Preseli Walking Festival
A month long festival of walks and tours in North Pembrokeshire encouraging people to get out and enjoy the amazing Pembrokeshire countryside.

The Preseli Green Dragon community minibuses are used during this festival to enable walkers to enjoy linear walks - leave their car at one end, have the bus take them to the other, and then they walk back to their cars.

(pic above) The Green Dragon meeting Derek Brockway, & GD2 (the minibus which runs on Straight Vegetable Oil).  The weather forecast for the afternoons walk was "Dry and sunny with a light breeze from the south west!"

The office address is,

The Old School

19/2/10 A VIP was in the area recently; Jane Davidson AM is Minister for the Environment, Sustainability and Housing, & on behalf of the Cabinet she leads on Climate Change and Sustainability. She visited the Cymdeithas Cwm Arian Association & was a passenger on Green Dragon II which is our veg-oil bus.

7/12/09 It has come to our notice that some people are telephoning the drivers at their home to book a Dial-a-Ride. This will cause problems to the passengers because drivers change & do not deal with bookings etc.

Please telephone the office to ensure you are booked onto the service you require, or for certain services telephone the PCC Transport Dept. Thank you.

8/8/09: The PRTA would like to assure you that the phone number for our office is still 0845 6860242.

It appears that an office supply company in London is advertising our number as theirs. We hope they will change their advertising soon.

The AGM was held on 1st June in Cafe Beca

Green Dragon III is lottery funded; Our grateful thanks to them!
